Joining the Falkland Islands General Employees Union joins your voices with those of fellow employees across the Falklands, working together for better conditions for all employed in the private and public sectors of the Islands.
Our mission
The Falkland Islands General Employees Union is committed to being a powerful and unifying voice for all workers across our islands. Our mission is to advocate for fair treatment, secure equitable wages, and ensure safe and healthy working environments for every employee, regardless of their industry or role. We aim to empower our members through strong representation, comprehensive support, and continuous education on their rights and responsibilities.
As a union, we believe in the principles of solidarity, transparency, and inclusivity. We work tirelessly to negotiate collective bargaining agreements that reflect the needs and aspirations of our members, ensuring that their voices are heard and respected in all workplace matters. Our goal is not only to address the immediate concerns of workers but also to promote long-term improvements in employment standards and conditions.
We are dedicated to fostering a sense of community among our members, providing them with the tools and resources needed to navigate the complexities of the modern workplace. Through collective action and mutual support, we strive to build a more just and equitable society, where the dignity of labour is upheld and every worker is treated with respect and fairness.
Union Events
The Falkland Islands General Employee’s Union also holds quarterly social meetings, open to members of the union and non-members alike to come learn more about the union's mission and activities; meet current members and hear their experiences; share thoughts and discuss working life in the Falklands; and explore how the union can support fair pay, better workplace conditions, and workers' rights.
